Q. Am I eligible for an academic license and if so what must I do?
A. If you are a member of an academic research group within the United Kingdom then your group is eligible for an academic license under the UKCP (UK Car-Parrinello Consortium) agreement. This is free-of-charge but requires a permanent member of staff - usually the group leader - to sign the paperwork. This release is managed using the CCPforge website where you will find instructions and forms.
If you are a member of an academic research group outside the United Kingdom but within the European Economic Area (EEA) then you are eligible for an academic source code license which costs € 1800. Unlike the UK academic license this is administered by Dassault Systèmes BIOVIA.
Q. If I am not eligible for an academic license, how can I obtain CASTEP?
A. CASTEP can be purchased as part of the Materials Studio suite from Dassault Systèmes BIOVIA.
